211/365 - Ducks

Today, Jasper went for a scuba dive while I went for a 10-mile run.
It was super hot!
And humid!

While he was packing up his scuba gear, there were some cute little ducks that wandered into the campground.

192/365 - Storm

I mostly slept through the storm last night. I guess it was relatively bad. On my morning run, I came across this huge downed branch.

Today, we spent the afternoon doing some conservation work, getting caught in the rain, canoeing down the river, oh, yeah, and getting caught in the rain. Did I mention the rain? It was coming down in buckets by the end.

162/365 - Kayaking

Today's adventure was kayaking.

I'm not a very experienced kayaker, so I was lucky enough to be in a double seater with one of the guides. It was a really fun experience. The section of the river we did (about 11 miles) included a couple Class I rapids and one Class II. Of course, the river was running pretty high, so the II were probably more like a 1.5, if that. :)

Today was the first day of my adventure weekend.

I found myself with a few extra minutes on my way to work this morning, so I stopped to snap some pictures of different flowers that I walk by every day.

128/365 - River

Tonight, we celebrated Mother's Day by going with my family to dinner and the theater.

Here is a picture of the view of the river from the theater's lobby. Gorgeous!

113/365 - Beach?

I went for a 3 mile run this afternoon. It was really pretty, but at my turn-around point, I noticed this beach on the other side of the river. It looked like a little oasis.

41/365 - Love/Hate

It's no secret - it's been fucking cold here this winter. I know it's MN, but c'mon!!

I have a love/hate relationship with the skyways downtown.

I LOVE that they keep me warm and dry during inclement weather.

I HATE getting so hot walking through them with all my winter garb on.

Oh well.

I'd much rather be hot than cold,

So love definitely wins out here. :)

16/365 - Birdie

I fell in love with these little birds. They were usually in a group of at least three.

They would run along the beach, sticking their beaks into the sand.

When the waves would reach up to their little feet they would run up shore.

It was so fun to watch their little legs go!

11/365 - Rainbow

Today, we drove from our lodge at the Arenal Volcano to our cabina near Nosara.

We stopped a few times along the way to snap some pictures.

I loved this one because the view was stunning, but also I loved the rainbow.

It was so clear and beautiful. The picture doesn't do it justice.

This was a perfect rainbow.
